All time greats Tina Turner, Cher and Bonnie Raite, to name a few, are all a part of Denise's style. Singing for local bands, studio recording and many solo performances Denise is a firm standing professional vocalist. In 2001 Denise decided to turn to a blues feel and joined a local rhythm n' blues band. Performing in various venues in the region for a couple of years, she met a rock guitarist who later joined her in "dOUBLE sHOT". Ambitions for the near future is to keep gigging, stay in key and continue to record. Ian has been playing guitar for about 25 years and is completely self taught. At first, with a Spanish guitar, he would sit down next to his mum and dad's record player and listen to Dwayne Eddy, Eddie Cochran, The Shadows and The Beatles. Picking up the music by ear, Ian and his Dad agreed to go halves on his first electric guitar. £90 black and white stratocaster guitar and the neck bowed within 6 weeks! The second guitar had more staying power, a 59' Fender Stratocaster that is still played today. In 1982 Dire Straits were going like a hurricane and Ian heard them on the radio playing Tunnel of Love. With the Mark Knopfler technique came a wave of intense learning, he found the style and sound that wanted. It took sometime but now has the style of MK and now the guitar too. The Pensa Custom that he plays is the same in every way that Mark plays and as Rudi Pensa said "It's a better guitar than I made for Mark!" Quite an accolade. Ian played in a line of local bands before being asked to deputy for his friend's blues band where he met Denise. Ambitions are too keep rockin' and find a bloody guitar stringer!
